The Inspector-General of Schools (IGS), Dr. Haggar Hilda Ampadu, joined the Deputy Minister for Education, Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo, Dr. Christian Addai-Poku (Registrar, National Teaching Council) and other distinguished STEM practitioners and enthusiasts to support Dr. Elsie Effah Kaufmann at the launch of the Elsie Effah Kaufmann Foundation (EEKF) at the Cedi Conference Centre, University of Ghana.
In a brief remark, she indicated that the famous quiz mistress’ vision is timely and deserves both commendation and emulation because of STEM’s indispensability to improved development outcomes.
She reiterated her wholehearted commitment as a research scientist to the STEM agenda and hinted at the premium placed on the observation of science and mathematics lessons in pre-tertiary schools by Inspectors of the National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA).
The IGS was convinced that the inclusion of a session for participants to generate electricity using banku balls clearly demonstrated EEKF’s vision of making STEM practical and fun for learners across the country.
