A Deputy National Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, Ruth Dela Seddoh on Sunday January 29,2023 declared her intention to contest NDC Ayensuano constituency primaries.
She will contest Nana Yaw Teddy Addy the incumbent MP who snatched the seat from the ruling NPP in 2020.
Ruth Seddoh met the constituency executives of the NDC at Ayensuano Sunday, donated LED TV set , a fridge and cash of Ghc2000 to the party.
She also met traditional authorities, leading members of the party as well as some branch executives.
“It is about time that the young ones particularly myself need to step out and offer myself for leadership; leadership for Parliament. Mind you, we need to put together quality human resources to demonstrate to the world that indeed Ayensuano constituency has something good to offer and I have prepared myself over the period and have come to the point that after inner research and proper consultation it’s about time to step forward and ask the hands of the people to be selected as their parliamentary candidate and possibly the member of Parliament for Ayensuano Constituency for the 2024 elections going forward.” she said.
Ruth Dela Seddoh acknowledged the good works done by present and previous MPs, however, she believes, much needs to be done to develop the deprived constituency to accelerate development and improve living standards of the people.
“There’s therefore the need to inject in fresh young people with new ideas that can push for the development of Ayensuano constituency to a higher level.I want to tell the members and supporters of the NDC to vote for me to win the incoming NDC parliamentary primaries in order to win the seat for them. I am not in the race for my own personal interest or to win and amass wealth for myself”.
Meanwhile, Bryt News has gathered that some concerned constituency executives and grass root members are likely to hold a press conference by close of the week to send a signal to the national executives and parliamentary caucus scheming to let the current MP go unopposed.
The group wants level playing field for all who want to contest to ensure unity that will enable the party come out of the primaries strongly to retain the seat.
