Dr Emmanuel Ekow Kaitoo, the New Juaben South Municipal Director of Health Service has advised people to stop putting fear in others in order not to take the Covid vaccines.
To him, the COVID-19 vaccines have been approved by the Food and Drug Authority and are good and safe for all Ghanaians.
At the Media Engagement On Covid-19 National Immunization Day in the Eastern Region, Dr Kaitoo averred that the national vaccination campaign is part of efforts to increase the uptake of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Due to this effort, Health workers have been deployed to one house and another to immunize people adding that people react to paracetamol. Dr Ekow Kaitoo said
He added that the vaccines have been improved in order to pave way for children from 15 years and above, including pregnant women, to be eligible to receive the vaccine.
Dr Kaitoo urged the press to continue its education to support the government to combat the COVID-19 in the country.
During the media engagement, he affirmed that people who have taken the jabs can be affected by the virus but the severity is been reduced adding that there are only six active cases in the New Juaben South Municipality.
‘‘1,359 cases have been confirmed cumulatively and 51 have died,’’ said Dr Kaitoo.
He revealed that 8,979 people have been fully vaccinated for Johnson and Johnson, 554 for Moderna, 11,869 for AstraZeneca and Pfizer 28.
‘‘The Ghana Health Service is proposing Booster as a third dose for Ghanaians to get immunized,’’ Dr Kaitoo stated.
He urged Ghanaians to get involved in the ongoing immunization service.
