On Bryt FM’s Adekyee Mu Nsem morning show, hosted by Kwamina Sam Binney, the Spokesperson for the Ghana Police Service, Grace Ansah Akrofi, who also serves as Assistant Commissioner of Police, addressed concerns about security surrounding the Akwatia by-election.
She assured residents that despite rising tension in the area, there is no cause for fear or panic. According to her, the Police Service is fully prepared to ensure peace and order throughout the electoral process.
“No one should be deceived into staying home. Go out and exercise your right to vote. The police are here to protect, not to harm anyone,” she emphasized.
The IGP further warned that any individual who attempts to disrupt the process or engage in misconduct will be arrested and prosecuted.
Concluding her statement in Akwatia, Grace Ansah Akrofi encouraged all eligible voters to participate in the election peacefully, stressing that security arrangements are very tight and that everything will proceed smoothly
