The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare has commended Ghanaians for abiding the directives on the partial lockdown of Accra, Kumasi and Central Region declared by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 in Ghana.
Speaking on Dadi FM morning show dubbed “Efa Wo Ho” with Abena Pokua Awhenee, stated that, citizenries have to be able to adhere to the precautionary measures outlined by the Ghana Health Service and the government under the auspices of Akufo Addo, the president of the republic. This, he believes will slow down the spread of the outbreak.
According to him, the partial lockdown has to be able to help them achieve their expectation ever since the partial lockdown begun within the various places.
Dr. Nsiah averred that the virus doesn’t spread by itself but rather from one person to the other hence limiting movement in the country is the only way to prevent Ghanaians from being affected by the pandemic.
“The lockdown is very difficult to bear with our daily lives because some people do not have enough basic needs such as foods, money and among others yet they have been able to stay calm for the benefit of the country,” he added
Dr. Nsiah however, advised the public to stay home for their good if they do not have anything relevant doing outside.
