The Nation Builders’ Corp (NABCo) has given notice that if the government does not accept their demands by Friday, June 10, they would go on strike.
According to the disgruntled recipients, they have not received any government stipends since being told to stay on after the program ended in October of last year.
“We were asked to remain at post until permanent arrangements could be made, and we have worked diligently, but unfortunately on an empty stomach, amounting to a sum of GH4,900.00,” claimed a letter to NABCo’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The Ministry of Finance and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission affirmed in a letter signed by Frank Quansah, the National Secretary of the Coalition of NABCO Trainees (CONAT), and copied to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
“On official petitions and calls to your agency, all efforts to convince the government to pay these allowances have proved futile,” the message continued.
