Twenty (20)medical Doctors and Nurses over the weekend stormed Kwahu Afram Plains South to embark on medical outreach exercise organized by the New Patriotic Party Parliamentary Candidate for the area, William Hor.
The two-day health screening and treatment was held in MaameKrobo, Ekye Amanfrom and Tease in collaboration with NPP USA and NPP Global Medical Team.
The medical team mounted canopies at seven vantage points in MaameKrobo township to diagnose and treat hundreds of patients whilst others moved from house to house to serve them with vitamin C solubles, painkillers and dewormers among others.
The team continued the exercise on the 27th September 2020 at Ekye Amanfrom and Tease where it was climaxed.
The medical team also circumcised 20 young and teenage residents at MaameKrobo.
Some patients with hernia and goitre were diagnosed and booked for surgery at the appropriate facilities for free.
The Parliamentary Candidate Willie Hor said the motive behind the exercise is to improve the health and well-being of the people to be able to vote in December 7, 2020 polls.
“Vote for President Akufo-Addo irrespective of your political affiliation which implies that you want SHS to be free in perpetuity for your children to benefit, you want nurses and teacher trainees to continue to receive allowances, you want your children to access loan or get scholarships to be able to go to university if you don’t have money, you also want to continue to fetch water and use light for free and that you want the government to continue to pay half of the fertilizer price for you etc etc. or vote for a different person to mean that you want the aforementioned to be cancelled.”
He added, “the second aspect of the elections is the parliamentary ballot which he is begging them to try him for the first time by voting massively for him implying that medical doctors and nurses should intermittently come and screen and treat them for free as they see now or vote for a different person rather than him to imply that this kind of support and free mock should cease”.
Mr Hor touted his achievements stating that he has done a lot but more will follow if elected MP.
He explained he sponsored super mock examination for BECE candidates of Afram Plains South built durbar grounds, toilet facilities, distributed free sewing machines for tailors, supported free training in beads making and liquid; powder and bar soap making, free weedicide and fishing nets and repaired many broken boreholes among others.
The leader of the Medical team Mr Fred Okyere popularly known as (Fish) in his speech advised patients to strictly observe covid 19 protocols to avoid the spread of the pandemic.
He also advised them to take their health issues serious by regularly going to the hospital for check-ups.
A delegation from former president Kuffour’s office led by Mr Dialo used the occasion to meet with Fulani Community.
Dr Anane from the office of Presidential Advisor on Health was also present at the exercise.
