Ashanti Regional Minister of Ghana, Simon Osei Mensah has educated Ghanaians on why the four interchanges the government promised residents in the region have not come to pass.
According to him, the promise is still in mind and the government is working hard to complete it, but they need to assess the situation and construct it at the right time so it can serve its purposes.
“After we assess the situation, we realize that if we start the construction of an interchange at Angloga Junction and one at Suame Roundabout, the traffic situation will worsen”, he enlightened.
He added that, if they construct the interchanges at a wrong time even though it’s for a good purpose people won’t see the good in the project.
“If you do a good thing as a bad time, it becomes a bad thing”, he said.
The interchanges which were supposed to be constructed by the government was made known a year ago by the Ashanti Regional Minister, he disclosed that the government will build four new standard interchanges in Kumasi so that traffic will reduce.
He, therefore, promised that the promises will be fulfilled but the government needs to find the right time so the interchanges can serve its purpose and not worsen the case.
He also assured the people that the government will fix all deteriorating roads in Kumasi metropolis so the people can travel freely.
