Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) prospective presidential candidate, has advised the party’s delegates not to be intimidated by anyone and also shouldn’t allow anyone to influence their votes as the party delegates go to the polls to elect a presidential flagbearer for the party.
According to him, delegates have to be brave and firm in their refusal to yield to any pressure that could sway their votes rather than to be intimidated by anybody.
“Don’t be intimidated by anyone. You make the Jubilee House, so don’t allow anyone to influence your vote. Resist or give them a showdown,” he insisted.
He presented himself as an assured, fearless, and seasoned contender who could easily defeat National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Mr. John Dramani Mahama.
“I assure delegates that I will defeat John Mahama hands down in the general election if elected to lead the NPP.”
The presidential contender stated that if delegates chose him to lead, he could achieve his goal of making Ghana strong and magnificent, as the National Anthem emphasized, regardless of his political connections.
At the Cape Coast chapel square, where he addressed delegates, party loyal supporters, and sympathizers following one of his “showdown walks” across the main streets in the Metropolis, Mr. Agyapong provided the guarantee.
He claimed to be a man of integrity, unity, patriotism, discipline, and honesty who would unite the grassroots to support the party’s 2024 win.
