The Parish Priest for Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Akroso in the Diocese of Koforidua, Reverend Father James Buah-Nkwantabisah has called on Ghanaians to be involved in developmental projects and stop depending on Government always to come to their aid.
He noted that some Ghanaians are claiming that they do not have anything but they are richer than the Government and said such habit is killing generosity in the country, adding “ every day we are waiting for the Government, everything government, what have you started for the government to support? So if our street is in a deplorable state, can’t we organize ourselves and do something? If you go to Asene in our District, only one person dedicated himself and constructed all street roads and whenever I pass there I pray for that person but people have the mindset that if you do something for society your family people will kill you and people always think of negativity and setback instead of developmental issues. Stop negative thinking. he said.“
Speaking at Akroso Catholic Church to climax a three-day feast of Maria Gorritte organized by the Catholic Youth Organization in the Parish, Reverend Father James Buah-Nkwantabisah said Ghanaians should always start something in their communities and seek Government support instead depending solely on the National cake, adding, a truthful person will have many blessings, but those eager to get rich will be punished.
The Reverend Father said Love and faithfulness keep a king safe; through love, his throne is made secure and through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the Lord, evil is avoided.
Reverend Father James Buah-Nkwantabisah charged the Youth to dream big by starting something small and turn the impossibility to possibilities and try to consult their faith in persevering, but not consulting the fear, and should always compare the size of the Lord to their challenge.
The head of Finance at the Public Procurement Authority-Ghana who doubles as Akroso Catholic Church President, Mr. George Biney also called on the youth to be serious with their Education and said there are opportunities available in the Country for those who will study hard.
He pledged his support for the youth in the Parish after which he donated Ghs500.00 to them and charged them to continue to be key players in the church.
