An Assistant Priest with the Saint Mary`s Catholic Church in Asamankese of the Diocese of Koforidua, Reverend Father George Yeboah has charged Christians to shun corruption and ignore people who have been saying corruption is the order of the day.
According to him, Jesus Christ suffered in changing the ideology and perception of the Jewish and went through pains and was challenged but he stood his grounds and performed his mission to the latter.
Delivering a sermon to mark 2021 Passion Sunday in Asamankese, Reverend Father George Yeboah said every Christian must know the reasons why an organization, church, Town exist and what they stand for and known for, adding, If Christians fail to know all these, there will be misunderstanding always in their places of work.
Palm Sunday, also called Passion Sunday, in the Christian tradition, the first day of Holy Week and the Sunday before Easter, commemorating Jesus Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem. It is associated in many churches with the blessing and procession of palms (leaves of the date palm or twigs from locally available trees).
The Catholic Priest said Christians as Ambassadors of Jesus Christ must ensure there is Truth in any place they find themselves and should never give up and noted that such Ambassadors will face challenges and difficulties when trying to ensure fairness, fight corruption and they would be betrayed by people known to be fellow Christians.
“Corruption we say is the order of the day so whatever office you enter, everybody will want to take something before he or she signs a document for you or recommends you, you are a Christian, you are a Catholic, the Teachings, the Doctrine and the Bible also informs you and tells you to know that is not the way to go so you don’t want to take it but, so you will become the odd person among the nut and rather becomes the bad person among the best, the priest said. “
