The Electoral Commission has launched a restricted registration drive across the country for everyone over the age of eighteen (18).
The drill is scheduled to conclude on Monday, May 20, having started on May 7.
At a press conference held in Accra yesterday, EC Chair Jean Mensa revealed that the country’s 25 public universities and 785 electoral regions would host the 21-day exercise.
According to Jean Mensa, the EC has projected that 623,000 new registrants will be added to the 910,000 new registrants enrolled in 2023 for the exercise.
Speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” morning show, Nana Akomea sternly warned all political parties not to replicate the practice of registering minors.
“Don’t go and gather children you know are not 18 years old” to participate in the limited registration exercise, he briefly advised.
