Former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has urged party delegates not to let personal issues with members of his campaign team influence their voting decisions ahead of the party’s presidential primaries on January 31, 2026.
Addressing delegates during his campaign trip of the Greater Accra Region, Dr. Bawumia highlighted that he should be judged on his own record, not the acts or attitudes of those who support his campaign.
“I want all of you to know that I’m the one on the ballot paper,” he told the gathering.
“Maybe someone has annoyed you and is part of my campaign team. Don’t allow your issues with the person to affect me. I don’t have any problem with you.”
Additionally, he exhorted delegates to keep personal grudges apart from the party’s future and his vision for Ghana.
“Do not allow another person’s problem to become a burden for me. When you vote for me, I will come and help you,” Dr. Bawumia said passionately.
“I am pleading with all of you not to make someone’s actions negatively impact me. Please vote for me. I have no issues with you,” he added.
