The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Upper West Akyem Constituency in the Eastern Region, Mr. Emmanuel Drah, has called on leaders and members of the New Patriotic Party to stop Jubilating for procuring District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) equipment with Tax Payers money.
According to him, the NPP should not be optimistic that the District Road Improvement machines will change the mind of Ghanaians to reconsider them after failing in administration for the past seven years.
Addressing the media after filing his nomination form to contest the seat for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper West Akyem Constituency, Mr. Emmanuel Drah, who is Chief Executive Director at Semada Groups GH ltd expressed worry over attitude of some members of the NPP who are claiming that the newly procured machines belongs to them, and are pasting their Parliamentary and Presidential candidates posters on it.
He accused the Upper West Akyem District Assembly for unveiling to DRIP equipment secretly without inviting him as the incoming member of Parliament as well as some Assembly members.
Mr. Drah promised to resource the NDC’s campaign team in the Constituency to work hard and retake the seat from the NPP who won it for the first time since 1992 in the 2020 election.
The New Patriotic Party’s Frederick Obeng Adom won the seat and seeking for second term with 21,863 (51.98%) vote against former District Chief Executive who was incumbent, Derek Ohene Assifo Bekoe who pulled 20,196 (48.02%) vote.
