The Team Leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Sikaman Zone of the Eastern Region, Mr. Kumi Larbi has charged members of the Party not to repeat mistakes that led their defeat in the 2008 Parliamentary and Presidential election.
According to him leaders and members of the Party were proud of former president John Kufour’s administration achievements from the year 2000 to 2008 so they were not going for a campaign and attributed that to the cause of their defeat.
Speaking in Asamankese to inaugurate Special Committees for the NPP in Lower West Akyem Constituency ahead of the December election, Mr. Kumi Larbi charged Party leaders and supporters go to the electorates at their homes and offices and accounts for the achievements of President Akufo-Addo administration and the way forward.
He said the Novel Pandemic COVID-19 spread and fight against it will change the face of the campaign in 2020, therefore, the use of Radio, Television, and new social media must also be adopted to reach every eligible voter.
The NPP leader called on campaigners to avoid insult and tribalism and focus on the Party’s manifesto and achievements in the first term in office and stressed on the need to retain all parliamentary seats the party occupy currently and work all supporters to work hard to win additional parliamentary seats.
Parliamentary Candidate for Lower West Akyem Constituency, Mr. Charles Acheampong said hard work and perseverance can give the party another term in office and urged party members to achieve the dream of retaining Presidential and Parliamentary seats.
He called on party members and aspirants who were defeated in the Party’s Parliamentary Primaries in April to bury their differences and support the victory campaign.
