Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has urged NPP delegates not to succumb to the lies of his competitors and cast votes for them ahead of the party’s flagbearership race in November.
According to Agyapong, some of his party’s members continue to make promises to Ghanaians that they are aware they cannot keep.
The MP, who is seeking the NPP presidency, claimed that because of his riches, he is not afraid to call out any NPP member who deceives the public.
He made this statement while blaming members of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team and his challenger in the NPP presidential primary for making vague promises to Ghanaians in the Volta Region over the weekend.
“People have given promises, (upon) promises, and they have never delivered… These people are coming to you to lie.
“I will tell you the truth. I’m not afraid of anybody because I’m rich, I’m rich,” he declared as he was addressing NPP members at the NPP in the Agortime Ziofe Constituency.
The NPP’s super delegate congress, set for August 2023, will have 11 members who have chosen to run.
The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the former Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko, the former NPP General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong, the former Mampong Member of Parliament, Francis Addai-Nimoh, the former Trade and Industry Minister, Alan Kyerematen, and the former Food and Agriculture Minister, Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei are among these individuals.
