The Member of Parliament for Assin-Central and also the Presidential Aspirant Candidate of the New Patriotic Party NPP Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has expressed deep concerns about the consistence negligence being infringe on grassroot party members after power has been won by the party , a practice he said has existed in the party since 2000 to date.
According to Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, grassroot party members deserve to be giving equal and fair opportunities likewise national and party appointees when the party is voted into power hence he stands to end that cycle when he is voted as the next Presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party NPP.
Addressing NPP delegates in New Juaben North Constituency in the Eastern region, the Presidential Aspirant Hopeful said “I have been fighting for the grassroot members so many years that those are the people who sacrificed their lives for the party and slept in the bush and guided the ballot box but they never listened to me”
“They thought the seven years and eight years will never come, there are certain individuals in the party because of their parochial interest they have taken monies and are going round telling you to vote for their Presidential candidates, ask yourself what they did for you in this seven years that they have been in power, but be wise and look at your living conditions now before you cast your vote for who you want to become your Presidential candidate” he told the delegates.
“Certain individual in the party think they are the only ones with big stomach and deserve to eat , don’t you have stomach too to eat , you are going to vote for them again and they will be enjoying with their families alone , but ask yourself that when you are going to campaign do you see their wives and children”
“Today they are going round saying I am not a presidential material, they think the presidential material is somebody in suit and tie speaking big English good to see you good to see you”
“but I want you to compare such individual to the one who is normally dressed and will give you jobs to do , so good to see you and I will give you jobs who is the presidential material , ebi good to see you we go chop” he told the delegates.
Hon. Kennedy Agyapong believes that his contribution and support for the party is enormous and nobody in the NPP party can contend him, therefore he urged the delegates to reward him by electing him as the next Flag-bearer of the party to break the eight for the party.
