Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has emerged as the clear winner of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Primaries in the Eastern Region.
With a commanding 65.66% of the total votes, Dr. Bawumia solidified his position as a frontrunner in the race.
The official announcement of the results took place at the Electoral Commission’s Regional Office in the Eastern Region by Madam Faith Amedzake Regional Director of EC.
The breakdown of the election results from all 33 constituencies are as follows;
Total Votes Cast: 20,388
Total Valid Votes: 20,305
Total Rejected Votes: 83
The candidates and their respective vote shares in the Eastern Region are as follows:
Kennedy Ohene Agyapong: Secured 6,794 votes, which accounts for 33.32% of the total vote share.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia garnered 13,387 votes, representing an impressive 65.66% share.
Owusu Afriyie Akoto: Received 57 votes, making up 0.28% of the vote.
Francis Addai Nimo: Garnered 67 votes, equivalent to 0.33% of the total share.
Dr. Bawumia’s landslide victory in the Eastern Region underscores his strong appeal and resonating vision among NPP members in this crucial electoral stronghold.
