A second member of an anti-corruption organisation in the Democratic Republic of Congo has been arrested after it made accusations against the president’s wife.
The organisation, “Lutte Pour Le Changement” (Lucha) alleged that a foundation run by Denise Tshisekedi had diverted aid meant for the victims of a volcanic eruption. The foundation denied the allegations.
Ghislain Muhiwa was arrested at his home in the eastern city of Goma.
His colleague Parfait Muhani was arrested in July over the same incident and is awaiting trial before a military court.
