Former Governor and Finance minister, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor has pen down a very passionate emotional message on the plight of the ordinary Ghanaians as we approach Christmas.
In his post, the businessman was worried that most families would even find it difficult to afford a meal a day this Christmas season.
It however, applauded the minority in Ghana’s parliament for objecting insensitive provisions in the 2022 budget statement.
His message is below:
“As we enter the Christmas season, many families continue to endure stiff hardship to keep food on the table. It is why the Minority Caucus continues to push against insensitive provisions in the 2022 budget, in defense of those who have the least and who are literally fighting for their lives in this tough economy. Building consensus on this matter is the least the NPP can do now. As politicians, we call ourselves public servants but unfortunately all too many forget that this means we have to serve the public and look to the majority interest at all times. This Christmas, too many families will go without the bare necessities, and it is those families the 2022 budget must protect, not its privileged authors”.
