Assistant coach of Premier League Side Dreams FC, Edwin Torto says his outfit topmost ambition for the upcoming season is to win the league title.
According to him, the club’s highest priority in the upcoming league season is to annex the league trophy to honour their Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kurt Okraku who has been elected as the Ghana Football Association President.
In an interview with Sylvester Ntim (Koke) of Bryt FM, he said the 2019/2020 GPL diadem will go to his side as they are determined to mount a serious title challenge for the season.
“Our target for the season is very big. Dreams FC has performed very well since they joined the elite league from Division One. It is about time we target winning the league but even if we do not win the league, we have to be in the top four. We have to present ourselves very well this season” he told Bryt Power Sports.
“In fact, there is some sought of pressure on the team with regards to the new position of our CEO as the FA president. We have to do something to honor him and I think it is a big motivation for us to do well in the league” he added.
He affirmed that it is about time the team start winning laurels and is hopeful they can win trophies in the forthcoming season for the fans.
Asked about the team that poses threat to their ambition of winning the league, he said, “Looking at the teams, I think Kotoko, WAFA and AshantiGold are the teams to give us tough test but we have planned to beat them at home and go in for a point away to them. If we want to win the league, we don’t have to lose to them on home and away” he added.
However, he has called on the club supporters to rally behind the team so they can achieve their target.
The 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League Season kick-off date has been slated for December 28, 2019.
