The Asamankese Circuit Court presided over by His Honour Abass Abubakari Adams has sentenced a 26-year-old farmer to five years imprisonment for stealing electrical cables meant for rural electrification projects at Mepom.
Robert Nuworsu (A.k.a. Kwaku Lapaz) pleaded guilty to stealing when he appeared before the Court.
The prosecution said the accused four others are at large now and the complainant is Michael Amartei who works with GIWALK Electrical Company.
According to prosecution, the Company was contracted by the Electricity Company of Ghana to undertake a rural electrification project.
The accused and his accomplices want to the Company on 01/08/2020 at 1:00am with the vehicle and stole the cables but were chased by police upon a tip-off.
