A 45-year-old man, identified as Dowgye, has been found dead after falling into a gutter at Kokrobite in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
Reports suggest that Dowgye was heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident.
According to Yaw Ankoma, popularly known as English Man, who witnessed the incident in an interview with HB news said, Dowgye was seen heavily drunk the previous night. Ankoma narrated that it is believed that while attempting to cross a roadside gutter, Dowgye fell into it, hit his head, and bled to death.
Speaking on this incident, the Adontehene of Kokrobite, Nii Quarshie Djabum Okreketeyua II, expressed dismay over the incident and sent his condolences to the bereaved family.
However, he bemoaned the increasing rate of alcoholism among the youth these days and called on them to, if possible, stop or drink responsibly.
