Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has met the National Chief Imam, Sheik Osman Nuhu Sharubutu.
The Paris Saint-Germain star is in Ghana together with Memphis Depay for the summer vacation.
Since their arrival, the pair has been involved in a couple of activities, funding the refurbishment of a boxing gym in Accra as well as visiting the Cape Coast school for the deaf.
After paying a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam, the former Liverpool star took to social media to express his joy.
“Very grateful to meet the incredibly inspiring 104 year old Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, the Chief Imam of Ghana and member of the National Peace Council,” he posted on Twitter.
Wijnaldum was formerly known as Boateng after spending time with a Ghanaian family.
The former Liverpool midfielder was born to Surinamese parents in Holland but was raised by a Ghanaian father.
