NPP Communication team member of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Desmond Bempong has charged Ghanaians to support the Akufo-Addo led government to transform the economy for the benefit of all.
According to the Government Spokesperson, the NPP government has initiated a lot of policies that have been beneficial to all Ghanaians as far as all the sectors of the economy are concerned.
Speaking on Bryt FM political show “Ebesi Sen” last Thursday, Desmond Bemppng described the minority and the NDC as hypocrites for speaking ill of the new E-levy as stated in the 2022 budget statement by the Finance minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.
There have been diverse views on the new tax expected to be imposed on electronic banking and mobile money operations.
Many Ghanaians have called for the abolishment of the tax and are rather calling on the government to share the profit gained by the various telecommunication operators instead of taxing the ordinary Ghanaian.
But responding to the issues, Mr. Desmond Bemppng emphasized that government can only fulfill its mandate by ensuring the tax margin is widened to offer all Ghanaians contribute a little to the success story.
He has, however, urged Ghanaians to embrace the new levy and contribute to making the country a better place as well all wish for.
