Speaking with Kwame Kontor Boateng, Lord FM, the Member of Parliament, Hon. He said for a developing country such as Ghana to move boost development, it needs to construct its roads, build schools, provide furniture, and improve security cameras to reduce the crime rate.
Surprised that some groups of people are antagonizing the proposed 1.75% E-Levy which will enable Ghana to raise the needed revenue for such interventions.
He said the “NDC MPs are in opposition and have decided to play the minds of people to disregard the budget, simply because they want the government to fail, but as far as E-LEVY is a concern, I support the budget and it will help move the nation forward”. He said.
Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng alleged that those fighting the budget are doing so for political expediency.
According to him, “the time has come for the MPs to think about the country and when it gets to the appropriation, the money should be disbursed to the ministry like road sector, ministry of finance, energy sector, trade and industry and if those monies are not used judiciary so they can expose the minister in charge of the ministry”.
