The government has been cautioned to give a proper account of monies that will be generated from the Electronic levy (e-levy) to ensure development.
According to the General overseer of New Generation True Faith Church International, Apostle Ebenezer Adiyiah, the e-levy has come to stay and therefore urged the government to make sure they use the money for the intended purposes of taxing Ghanaians.
He admonished most of the European countries that have developed because the taxes they take from their citizens are used for the purpose of taking it and called on Ghana to learn to do the same thing.
He again advised Ghanaians not to desist from using mobile money transactions but should contribute to the development of the nation.
Ghana started the implementation of the controversial e-levy on May 1, 2022, after the majority side of Ghana’s Parliament approved the Bill without the minority’s participation.
