The Asamankese Circuit Court Presided over by His Honour Abass Abubakari Adams has sentenced a 24 year old Labourer, Kofi Amankwa to 20 years imprisonment in hard Labour for defiling a 11 year old Primary Two Pupil.
Kofi Amankwa, Pleaded guilty for Defilement, Contrary to section 101(2) of the criminal offence Act 1960 (Act 29).
Prosecution officer Inspector Samuel Owusu told the court that victim is a 11 year primary two pupil of Abuchensu Primary School residing with her mother Theresa Appiah who is the complainant in this case at Bunsu Afranta, whiles the accused Kofi Amankwah age 24 is a labourer, also victim’s step father living in the same house.
The Prosecution statement said in the month of September 2023, the accused lured the victim into the complainant’s pepper farm and had sexual
intercourse with her.
Unfortunately in the same month, the accused again lured the victim to his cocoa farm and on reaching the farm whiles the victim was helping accused, he pushed the victim to the ground and forcibly removed her pants and had sexual intercourse with her and warned her not to inform anybody of the act or else he will kill her.
On 21/10/23, the
complainant noticed changes in the victim’s walk and when asked, victim mentioned the
accused name as the one who defiled her twice so a report was made to Police and the ccused was arrested and handed to Police for investigation.
Police medical form was issued to complainant to take victim to hospital for examination and she returned same dully endorsed.
After Investigation, the accused admitted the
offence and he was charged with the offence and put before this court.
