38-year old Madam Magaret Agyei was adjudged the ultimate winner of the 5th edition of the ‘Gold In The Soil Awards’ held in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital on Thursday.
The initiative by Agrihouse Foundation and it’s partners is to honour hardworking women engaged in farming and Agribusiness at large.
Various speakers at the two-day went highlited the need to empower female farmers to ensure food security in the coming years.
Women farmers were also encouraged to put in their best I’m ensuring they make livelihood out of what they do as far as Agribusiness is concerned.

Meanwhile, both winners and participants appreciated the effort of Agrihouse Foundation and it partners for recognising and supporting women who are into agriculture and emphasised it will go a long way to push them more harder in whatever they do.
The ultimate winner received a tricycle and other farm inputs for sponsors while the other award winners also received different prizes to assist them in their works.
Also, women farmers with disabilities were equally recognised for their zeal to enter into farming despite the odds to motivate other women as well.
Meanwhile, Bono East region as been selected to host next year’s edition.
