The Eastern region has recorded four positive and active cases of COVID-19 as at Wednesday March 13,2023 .
The region has recorded total of 7,699 cases since the pandemic spread to Ghana in 2020.
Public education on preventive measures coupled with COVID vaccination exercise have helped to reduce infection to zero in the region for a long period.
1.9million doses of vaccines have been administered in the region out of which 806,000 are fully vaccinated.
A total of 276,006 have taken the booster.
Eastern regional health directorate says contrary to public perception , COVID-19 has not been totally defeated therefore urging the public to take the vaccines to protect themselves.
According to the health directorate ,the vaccines build immune system of an individual against the virus reducing the risk of death.
