Seventy-six (76) parliamentary aspirants have filed their parliamentary nomination form on the ticket of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Eastern region.
Many candidates have shown interest at the constituency level as the party plan to hold its presidential and parliamentary primaries on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
Mr Baba Jamal Konneh, the NDC Regional Secretary, in an interview with Nhyiraba Nartey Solomon of Bryt FM disclosed that the party is coming back to power in 2025.
He indicated that many individuals have shown seriousness at the various constituencies in the Eastern region.
Mr Jamal Konneh stated that the party is ready to win many parliamentary seats in the upcoming 2024 elections.
In the flagbearership race, four aspirants have shown interest to lead the party in the general election which includes the former President John Dramani Mahama, former Finance Minister Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, a former Kumasi Mayor, Kojo Bonsu and businessman, Ernest Kwaku Kobeah.
However, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) says preparations are ongoing for the vetting of both parliamentary and flagbearer hopefuls slated for March 28-29, in Accra.
