Flood victims in Akwadum ,one of the worse hit communities in the flood disaster are agitating as relief items are not forthcoming.
Almost a week after flood disaster occured in New Juaben North, victims are yet to receive relief items despite lossing everything to the floods.
203 households were either collapsed completely and partially damaged.
One person died whilst 2686 made up of 977 children and 1708 adults displaced by the floods.
Five basic schools in the municipality which include Akwadum M/A Junior High School and Islamic Basic JHS all in Akwadum and other communities have been shut down due to the floods.

The flood victims are furious that , National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and the New Juaben North Municipal Assembly have failed to provide their immediate needs – mattresses and food rather supplying them water in polytank.
They have rejected the water supply and threatened to beat the Municipal staff who went to the community to announce the availability of 5000 litre jumbo size Polytank water as provided by the assembly.
The Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben North Madam Comfort Asante said the Assembly has mobilized some relief materials which is to be distributed to the affected people whilst the assembly continue to solicit support from the Regional as well as the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO).
She however said, the items are inadequate hence appealing to the International Community , Government Institutions , Non Governmental Organizations, Civil Society , Private Organizations and individuals for support both in cash and in kind to bring relief to the affected persons.
