Healthlife Africa, a non-governmental organization has organised a health screening exercise for residents of Akwadum in the New Juaben North municipality of the Eastern Region to see to the health needs of participants.
Free drugs were distributed as health experts from the Eastern Regional hospital and other reputable health institutions examined the people to lower the risk of serious illness within the community.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Healthlife Africa, Prophet Stephen-Ask Ackrong, explained the motive behind the health screening exercise saying, it was to create health awareness in the people.
Speaking in an interview with Nhyiraba Nartey Solomon of Bryt Fm, Prophet Stephen Ackrong said that maintaining good health is a mandate for every Ghanaian.
He stressed drug abuse is prevalent in the Akwadum community which can lead to other health problems hence he can urge the youths to stop taking bad drugs as it makes living more difficult.
Prophet Stephen Ackrong affirmed that Healthlife Africa has also distributed over 1500 exercise books and sanitary pads to basic schools in the community.
He again cautioned the youth to desist from narcotic drugs as it causes seizures, stroke, mental confusion and brain damage and appealed to pharmaceutical companies and other relevant institutions to support Healthlife Africa to spread its alms-giving to deprived communities in the country.
However, beneficiaries also expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Healthlife Africa for organising the health screening with medication for the people in the community.
Healthlife Africa is an evangelical ministry that spreads the gospel of Jesus Christ to communities across the country.
