The angry youth of Amanase, a community near Suhum along the Accra to Kumasi highway embarked on a spontaneous protest last night after a speedy and rashly driven vehicle crushed a pedestrian to death.
The accident occurred at about 7:30pm Thursday.
The angry youth burnt tyres on the road creating gridlock.
This is not the first time residents have demonstrated continuous killing of people in the community owing to drivers’ failure to slow down on reaching the Community.
Yesterday’s incident involved an elderly man who was crossing the road when he was crushed and run over by many vehicles.
His body was shredded into pieces that littered the road.
It took the intervention of armed Police to disperse the angry youth amidst the firing of warning shots before the road was eventually cleared for motorists.
