A teacher at Okwenya M/A Junior High School in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region was nearly lynched by some irate youth in the community.
The teacher, Eric Kpabitey, was almost attacked for seizing the mobile phone of a form one student identified as Derick Akwetey.
An eyewitness told the press that, the eighteen-year-old student was using the mobile phone in class whiles teaching was ongoing forcing the teacher to seize the mobile phone.
However, the student rushed home to mobilize a gang wielding cutlasses and sticks who stormed the school and threatened to lynch the teacher should he refused to hand over the phone to the student.
Despite releasing the phone for fear of being killed, the mob still threatened to attack the teacher either on his way home or anywhere they meet.
The teacher was escorted home by his colleague foiling the planned attack.
The incident has created fear among the teachers in the School who have informed the opinion leaders to bring the youth to order.
