An unidentified woman has been found dead in New Juaben North Municipality in Eastern region.
The body of the woman believed to be in her forties (40’s) was found Wednesday, October 11, 2023, around 7:00 pm.
Her body was found behind the Odomankoma Block Factory at Asokore in the New Juaben North Municipality.
In response to this incident, a team of officers from the Municipal Secretariat of the National Disaster Management Organization led by KanKam Twumasi , Operations officer accompanied by officers from the Effiduase Police Command, arrived at the scene to assist in the transportation of the deceased to St. Joseph’s Mortuary in Effiduase, within the New Juaben North Municipality
The exact cause of her death remains unknown at this time, but the Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation to ascertain her identity, the cause of her demise, and the circumstances leading to her tragic passing.
In the last couple of months, at least two women have been mysteriously killed in New Juaben North.
Regina Asamoah , a 21 year old Nursing Mother was stabbed multiple times to death in her room at Koforidua Asokore
Another woman 54 year old trader ,Gloria Asare was also killed same month by unknown assailant(s) on her way to buy cowhide meat in the same Asokore community.
Aside these ,the municipality has been inundated by many cases of death on the streets which according to report, about 10 dead bodies collected so far from incidents of drowning, suffocation and pedestrian knock downs.
