SOS Children Villages, Asiakwa has embarked on Water Pump installation project being implemented under family Strengthening project for some schools.
According to leadership of the Village, objectives of the project are; to provide direct access to clean safe drinking water. Which will lead to children and young people having improved learning outcomes and Stakeholders in five public schools having improved knowledge and skills in the maintenance and management of the water facilities.
The Project will provide water for 2,500 children and young people and 105 teachers in five public schools in the Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly.
Beneficiary schools includes; KUKURANTUMI PRESBYTERIAN SCHOOL, KUKURANTUMI MA SCHOOL, OBODANASE PRESBYTERIAN SCHOOL, NEW TAFO MA MIXED SCHOOL and OLD TAFO PRESBYTERIAN SCHOOL.
Construction of the five bore holes in these schools have been completed successfully and handed over to the Schools Management Committee (SMC) for proper management.
