Residents of Akyem Tafo are worried about road crashes in between OPASS junction in Kukurantumi and Engen filling station junction at Old Tafo in the Abuakwa North municipality.
Their aggrieved call comes after the Assembly member for Old Tafo Ahenbronum electoral area, Hon. Kwabena Sarpong Asemasa was hit to death by an unknown vehicle.
The sad incident which occured at OPASS junction last Friday has triggered their anger on the poor state of that stretch of the road and indiscriminate mounting of billboards.
A resident, Eric Obuaba, narrating the ordeal of residents called on the Ghana Highway Authority and the National Road Safety Authority to deal with the above mentioned issues and also take into consideration lack of road signs and other road safety cautions on the Koforidua-Bunso highway.
The late Assembly member was on his motorbike returning from Koforidua when he met his untimely death.
The body has been deposited at the morgue while the police mounts search for the hit and run driver.
