The District Chief Executive, Hon Samuel Kwame Agyekum on Tuesday 7th March, 2023 received the Assembly’s refurbished Ambulance from Nana Asare Akowuah, Traditional ruler and Appointee of the Assembly and further handed over to the District Health Directorate at the forecourt of the Assembly.
The decision was arrived at following a meeting of the General Assembly to improve ambulatory services along the Sapor-Gyakiti stretch due to the bad nature of the roads.
In view of this, the traditional ruler on behalf of the Assembly appealed to the Volta River Estate Limited to refurbish the vehicle which was done.
The short ceremony was attended by the Hon. District Chief Executive, Public Health nurse, other staff of the Ghana Health Service, the Director of Administration, the Human Resource Manager, the District Information Officer and host of staff members from the Assembly.
In a short remark the Hon. DCE urged the health directorate to submit to the Assembly structured programme to be adopted for the running of the ambulance.
He also stressed on the need to instill good maintenance culture in order for the vehicle to be roadworthy at all times to serve the populace.
