Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong has described as disturbing, trend of indiscipline in some educational institutions in recent times especially, in Senior High Schools.
Students in many school have went on riot and rampage destroying properties.
He, therefore, charged Heads of Basic and Senior High Schools to be firm in instilling discipline among students to curb the canker.
“As students, your primary focus should be on studying hard and completing your course successfully. You are not to engage in any act of violence which has the potential of ruining your future. Remember that you are being trained as students to become responsible citizens in the future. Indeed, you are the future leaders of this country and it behooves you to uphold high sense of discipline”.
He urged school authorities to be firm in instilling discipline, especially in the Senior High Schools. It is one of the surest ways of achieving success in the education sector
The Minister said this when addressing the 66th Independence Day Parade in Koforidua.
