Boyfriends of two Junior High School students found dead at the roadside in Okrakwadwo community in Okere District of the Eastern region have gone into hiding.
The deceased girls visited the supposed boyfriends at Mile 14 Monday evening only to be found dead at midnight at the roadside.
One of the boyfriends sent a text message at 11:06 questioning one of the girls why she came to his house without calling him.
The deceased girls -Yvonne Ansaah and Esther Oye are both 16-year-old JHS 2 and 3 students respectively.
They left home Monday evening to visit their boyfriends at Mintakrom also known as Mile 14
But residents in Okrakwadwo had information at midnight the girls were lying motionless beside each other at the roadside with serious head injuries.
No bruises were found on their bodies to suggest they were knocked down by a vehicle or involved in an accident as speculated.
It is believed they were killed by their assailants before depositing them at the roadside.
The bodies have been deposited at Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital and Eastern regional Hospital.
The assembly member for the area Michael Gadasu confirmed the incident.
According to him, ” there were no marks of injuries all of their body to say they jumped out of a moving vehicle. Beside that, they were arranged beside each other so we suspect they were killed and dumped “.
Meanwhile, a lady in the Okrakwadwo community was called by one of the suspect boyfriends of the victims to inform her the girls have been involved in an accident had also run away.
An autopsy is expected to be conducted on Thursday.
