Alhaji Yusif Amudani, the Eastern Regional Chief Imam, has spearheaded a charitable initiative, bringing together Muslim stakeholders and district Imams in the Eastern Region to make donations to communities affected by the Akosombo Dam spillage floods in Asuogyaman District.
The generous donations, provided by donors from various Zongo communities in the Eastern Region, comprised essential items such as clothing, shoes, sanitary pads, bags of rice, sugar, maize, gari, tinned tomatoes, water, and cooking oil.
The initiative, undertaken on Tuesday, November 28th, 2023, aimed to support and alleviate the challenges faced by the communities impacted by the floods.
The District Chief Executive for Asuogyaman Samuel Kwame Agyekum and officials of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) received the items with gratitude to the Imams.
The collaborative effort reflects the spirit of unity and compassion within the Muslim community, demonstrating the commitment to providing assistance to those in need during challenging times.
