The chiefs and people of Akyem Ayirebi in the Akyemansa district (Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency) of Eastern region have called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs and Government to come to their rescue as chieftaincy dispute is gradually emanating into a civil war due to an unlawful swearing in of a chief.
Speaking at a press conference organised by Professor Owusu Frimpong of University of Professional Studies (UPSA), Okyeame of Akyem Ayirebi; Okyeame Oman Boadi speaking on behalf of the professor revealed that one fashion of Ayirebi royal family will be installing a chief which court has placed an injunction on it.
He has, therefore, called on IGP to as a matter of agency send his men to takeover the Akyem Ayirebi community in order not to incur any casualties because the youths have threatened to interrupt the program which could cause lost of innocent people lives.
Some of the concerned elders in Akyem Ayirebi community also spoke to the media and called on government and security heads in the Eastern region and national to come to their rescue as their lives are in danger.
