A Deacon of the Church of Pentecost, Ada Emmanuel Assembly in the New Juaben District in the Eastern region Deacon George Ofori has donated a wheelchair to support the Ministry to Persons with Disabilities (MPWDs) at the local level.
The wheelchair was presented on Sunday June 30th, 2024 through the Presiding Elder of the church Elder Michael Kofi Asenor to the beneficiary member.
The new wheelchair is to augment the old one in use received from MPWDs Koforidua Area about three years ago.
The Ministry to Persons with Disabilities (MPWDs) is a part of The Church of Pentecost’s Vision 2023 which seeks to build a strong ministry for people with disabilities by way of evangelism and discipleship.
MPWDs also seeks to further the spiritual, emotional and personal growth of persons with disabilities.
The Church of Pentecost has committed fully to the inclusion of persons with disabilities through various strategies such as awareness campaigns and training ministers and officers how to interact with PWDs.
The Ministry to Persons with Disabilities (MPWDs) of The Church of Pentecost participated in the maiden Disability Inclusion Summit in Accra in December 2020.
The purpose of the meeting was to get all stakeholders together to work towards the removal of barriers to the inclusion of and advocate for the equalisation of opportunities for persons with disabilities in society.
