Body parts believe to be that of Samuel Yeboah, about 45 years whom his family say was civilian Employee with Ghana Armed Forces and worked at Burma Camp has been retrieved from the bush at Sokode-Juaso in Abuakwa North Municipality in Eastern Region eight days after the incident.
Yeboah, had traveled to visit his family on November 15, 2025. While in the community, he was informed by a lady that a man had forcibly taken her mobile phone she no longer wished to sell but wanted returned.
In an attempt to assist her, Yeboah reportedly went to the suspect’s home around 6:00 p.m. to retrieve the phone. The confrontation escalated, and Yeboah attempted to arrest the young man and hand him over to the police.
But matters took a deadly turn.The suspect’s father, described as a hunter, allegedly rushed into his room, retrieved a firearm, and shot Yeboah from behind.
They then reportedly used a machete to butcher him to death.
Police sources say the father and son subsequently cut the body into pieces and buried the remains at different locations within the nearby bush to conceal the crime.
The father was arrested shortly after the incident, but the son managed to escape and is still on the run.
Despite his arrest, the father remained tight-lipped and refused to reveal where the body had been buried, even after being transferred to the Eastern Regional Police Headquarters.
With no leads forthcoming, traditional authorities stepped in to seek spiritual interventions.
The Gyaasehene of Sokode-Juaso, Nana Kwadwo Opare, said they traveled to perform traditional rituals in Akuapem to spiritually guide the search.
On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, search teams discovered the victim’s thigh in one part of the bush and additional body parts buried separately.
“The father refused to tell the police where the body was. After performing the rituals, we were directed to search the bush today, and by afternoon we found the remains buried at different spots,” Nana Opare told reporters.
Police have taken custody of the recovered remains as investigation continue.
The suspect will be arraigned before court while effort underway to arrest the other suspect on the run.
