There was chaos on the campus of the University College of Agriculture and Environmental Studies (UCAES) in Bunso in the Eastern Region Wednesday evening.
The confusion was triggered following the intrusion by the campaign team of Kwadwo Agyemang Boateng, an Eastern Regional Chairman aspirant, and his campaign entourage and about 70 delegates drawn from about four constituencies -Abuakwa North, Abuakwa South, Fanteakwa North, and South.
The campaign team invaded the campus and drove away students from the conference room with armed police guards to occupy the same for a meeting without permission from the management of the University.
This compelled some lecturers and administrative staff of the University College to intervene to question the campaign team why invading the campus to hold a political program without permission from management.
This resulted in an altercation between the security operatives following Kwadwo Boateng Agyemang and some members of the campaign team, staff, and students of the University on another side.
Nonetheless, the campaign meeting proceeded without mutual agreement with management.
The Dean of Students at UCAES Dr. Bernard Oppong-Kusi said the campaign team of Kwadwo Agyemang Boateng was so rude and disrespectful that they had a confrontation with management and students for resisting their action.
He said they rudely used the venue without any agreement and drove off.
However, Maxwell Nyamesah who is part of the campaign team of Kwadwo Boateng Agyemang said they initially booked the conference room of Bunso cocoa college however the venue was too small to accommodate the huge numbers hence went to the UCAE campus though, without prior permission, the campaign team reached a financial agreement with management on campus before using the facility.
