There is confusion at Akyem Larbikrom near Kyebi Afiasa in the Eastern region following the strange burial of an alleged illegal miner at a mining site of Xtra Gold mining company.
A man identified as Kofi Agyei, 23, was found dead in a mining pit at Larbikrom but two CID officers came to the site without coroner’s inquest to bury the victim at the mining site.
Residents are alleging that the victim was killed by Okyeman Environmental Taskforce who was in the area to clamp down on illegal miners.
The Chief of Afiasa Otafirigya Akumanin Agyeman is suspecting foul play.
He questioned why the Police failed to conduct a coroner inquest to establish the cause of death before the burial of the victim.
The Chief has threatened to exhume the body if the proper procedure is not followed.
