The Nkawkaw constituency chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Andrews Ameyaw has resigned from his position to begin what he describes as a new chapter in his political career .
Letter sent to the party says the resignation takes effect from September 19,2023.
Andrews Ameyaw explained that he has resigned to contest the Parliamentary Primaries of the party when nomination is opened for non- orphan constituencies.
He believes he can help the party maximize its votes to retain the parliamentary seat which is their stronghold and impact the presidential election to enable the party break the eight(8).
Currently ,Joseph Frempong is the incumbent NPP Member of Parliament for Nkawkaw constituency.
It is not clear if he will seek reelection in 2024.
