Deputy Youth Organiser of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Abuakwa North constituency, Jacob Klutse is accusing the government of being behind invasion of the house of the General Superintendent of the Saviour Church of Ghana at Akyem Osiem.
There was tension at the headquarters of Saviour Church of Ghana at Akyem Osiem in the Eastern region following invasion of the house of the General Superintendent Opanyin Abraham Adusei by armed police officers Tuesday dawn .
Fortunately, Opanyin Abraham Adusei had travelled to Afram Plains to visit his commercial farms but other occupants were present in the house at the time of the ugly incident.
The armed police personnel numbering about 20 invaded the house and ransacked the rooms and threw away some movable items from the room.
It is alleged that the team took away some unspecified amount of monies and other items yet to be identified.
Meanwhile, the NDC Communicator is accusing the Akufo-Addo led government of using security personnel to harass the former Council of State member for reasons best known to the NPP.
“How can police personnel invade the house of a big known religious leader in Ghana in this rambo style. How can someone who has been a former Council of state member and former Best Cocoa farmer in Ghana as well as former President of World Cocoa Farmers Association be treated lijke a criminal? This will happen only under Akufo-Addo led NPP” Jacob Klutse said angrily.
He is, therefore, advised the government to stop using security agencies to threaten and harass citizens as the NDC will always fight and defend citizens no matter one’s social, cultural, political or religious affiliations.
