Displaced third-year students of Kwabeng Anglican Senior High Technical School in Akyem Kwabeng in Atiwa West District in the Eastern region have been relocated to form one classroom.
Three classrooms accommodating third-year students were ripped off by a violent rainstorm recorded in the community Friday, March 18, 2022.
The incident occurred at about 6:10pm.
According to Agnes Minta, Assistant Headmaster in charge of Academics, three classrooms of the final year students were ripped off while other buildings were partially affected.
No casualty was recorded.
The Assistant Headmistress in Charge of Academics, Agnes Minta, last night’s rainstorm disaster will compound the infrastructural challenges facing the school if no emergency intervention is made before the arrival of fresh students.
The form students are expected to report to school on April 4, 2022.
The DCE for Atewa West accompanied by the district engineer and the officials of the National Disaster Management Organization, NADMO, have visited the scene to assess the situation to inform the decision to either reroof the buildings or construct new classrooms before the arrival of the first-year students.
